INA MAZIVA started own production of AdBlue

In the past two years, INA MAZIVA has intensively implemented the process of modernizing plants and equipment. Among the larger, and for INA MAZIVA, more significant projects, the introduction of a new filling line can be singled out, which is the heart of the filling plant's large facility. In addition to this large investment, a small plant was also invested in, which was enriched with two new lines for filling soft packaging and small 0.1-liter buckets, and a machine for the production of 1-liter plastic packaging was acquired.

In addition to the investment in the production facilities, part of the investment is directed towards the employees, who are a very important link in the company's daily operations, therefore a cooling system was installed in the bottling facility and a rest area for the production employees was arranged. In order for all other employees of INA MAZIVA to feel comfortable at their workplace, a large common area has been arranged for meetings, social gatherings over coffee or lunch.

The most significant investment this year in Mazivi is the launch of its own production of AdBlue, which will have many benefits for INA MAZIVA and thus make them more competitive on the market.

"by continuous monitoring of the requirements of the Croatian market, it was established that there is a great demand for AdBlue, and we decided that INA MAZIVA will embark on a new major modernization project, which is the construction of a plant for the independent production of AdBlue." This meant that we would no longer buy ready-made liquid, but that we would produce it ourselves from urea granules. Everything had to be started, people had to be educated, a complete idea had to be worked out and finally it had to be implemented. The capacity of the new plant is 60 tons per shift, which is more than enough to meet the current demands of the Croatian market. At the moment, it is possible to fill small commercial packages, tank cars and containers, and the plan is to purchase an additional line for filling AdBlue into canisters of 5 and 10 liters.", Tomislav Anić, Director of Production

"This is a real example of how the rich experience of our colleagues has turned into an excellent opportunity not to be missed for the umpteenth time. From the aforementioned opportunity, an idea was born that "just" had to be realized. As usual, we gathered strong forces in the project team, worked out the idea in more detail, made several analyzes and calculations, and were ready to launch an interesting investment project based on all this. Our first challenge was to do everything we had to in order to "squeeze" the new project into the already approved annual investment plan. With a lot of effort and the enormous commitment of each member of the project team, the seemingly impossible turned into the possible. We managed to include the new investment project in the list of this year's projects and do everything necessary to approve the budget and start the implementation of the project. The deadlines were "yesterday", which created a lot of pressure for us, but at the same time it also meant additional motivation for us - a situation in which you want to prove to yourself that everything is possible - if you are fully committed to it and see in it the benefit of the entire company, i.e. satisfaction to all colleagues who sincerely look forward to every new success. The success of the project did not depend only on internal resources, but was also influenced by the external environment. And we successfully dealt with that and managed to keep everything under control until the very end of the project. In parallel with the realization of the project, the procurement team also successfully completed the part of the story related to the procurement of the necessary raw materials for the production of the finished product, which was by no means an easy task considering the turbulent market for raw materials in general. Only a few months passed from the idea to the realization, which is really, from an experiential point of view, a short time. All this points to the dedicated work of all colleagues in the project team, to whom I would like to thank once again, especially my colleagues Tomislav Jelić and Željko Širanović. The plant for our own production of AdBlue was successfully put into operation at the end of November and we can't wait to see the benefits that were initially recognized as an excellent opportunity," said Josip Periša, director of Industrial Services.

"Given the turbulent market for lubricants, including AdBlue, where prices are often exposed to changes, we had to react and find a long-term solution that would make the availability of this product, as well as its price, more stable and reduce our dependence on changes. In addition, as there are currently a large number of AdBlue providers of different quality levels present on the market, we wanted to provide our customers with a long-term guaranteed and uniform high quality of this product. A logical step towards this was the own production of AdBlue, which complies with the requirements of the VDA association, which is a confirmation of the top quality of the product. Currently, we sell about 3,000 tons of this product annually, but the potential is much greater and the sales team's goal is to expand the base with new customers and in new markets. I believe that our own production of AdBlue will enable us to do this and that with this project we will once again show that we stand shoulder to shoulder with the leading manufacturers in this area.", Branimir Vuković, Director of Commercial Affairs and Optimization

"The new facility for the production of AdBlue is a great step forward for INA Group in the expansion of the assortment and the continuous supply of our customers with a product that has been in short supply on the market for a long time. We understood the information about the shortage of this product on the EU market as a big challenge and a business opportunity, because the shortage of AdBlue leads to a stoppage in transport, which ultimately results in empty shelves. It should be noted that every vehicle with a EURO 5 and EURO 6 engine uses AdBlue in order to reduce the emission of harmful gases, and without it it is impossible to start it. In August, we made a decision about the investment, and in the next 100 days we turned the idea into reality. With this move, we demonstrated agility, entrepreneurial spirit and constant concern for the needs and satisfaction of INA MAZIVA's customers. We are proud to be the first in Croatia to install a plant of this type, and our next task is to be the leader in sales on the regional market.", Zoran Škrobonja, director of INA MAZIVA
